CMM Weekly Recap—August 9, 2019
As you head out for that last-minute summer road trip, it would be nice to know that the hotel awaiting you is clean and well-maintained. AAA has instituted a new award—the Inspector’s Best of Housekeeping award—to set apart the top 25% off all 27,000 hotels that are inspected and approved by AAA. In order to receive the award, properties must demonstrate excellence in housekeeping and maintenance for two consecutive inspections and must be free of AAA member complaints.
To have the best chance of staying at an award-winning hotel, we hope you’re headed to California or New York City.
Once you get home from your trip, you’ll no doubt have a lot of laundry to do. That’s OK because chances are doing laundry is your favorite household chore, if you’re anything like the Americans surveyed in the American Cleaning Institute’s 2019 National Cleaning Survey.
We hope your children or grandchildren will be able to return to school on the scheduled day, because their schools have not developed unhealthy mold over the summer break. Unfortunately, every year schools across the country develop mold due to broken HVAC systems, damp conditions, and water leaks.
And may you return to your job at a safe and healthy workplace, perhaps because of the Safe + Sound program from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Companies looking for ideas on implementing and improving worker safety and health programs are invited to participate in OSHA’s Safe + Sound Week, August 12-18. Once a year, OSHA sets aside one week to promote resources that can help businesses set up a new program, energize and existing one, or showcase their safety success.
Enjoy the last few weeks of summer!
