Beat the Flu Season With These Cleaning Tips

Flu related deaths are on the rise; keep your building patrons safe

Even though we are months into flu season, flu-related deaths are still on the rise, and there is no end in site for when the illness will wean in many states.

As of last week's flu report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 48 states and Puerto Rico saw widespread flu activity, and the epidemic is still expected to grow, according to comments from  CDC spokeswoman Kristen Nordlund in an article from CNN.

The rise in flu across the country presents challenges for those of us managing facilities and working to keep them clean, but there are ways we can help to mitigate the spread of flu virus. This ISSA Educational Quick Clip video provides a handful of tips that can help prevent the spread of germs from one room to another, or even one surface to another. From giving priority to areas where kids may be touching the floor to changing mop bucket water and cleaning cloths in every room, there may be some tips in here you haven't heard before.
