OTTAWA — Three JanSan manufacturer trade associations have applauded an agreement between the United States, Canada and Mexico on regulation of chemicals, according to a press release posted on Newswire.ca.
The U.S. Soap and Detergent Association (SDA) and Consumer Specialty Products Association (CSPA), and the Canadian Consumer Specialty Products Association (CCSPA) said the agreement, announced at yesterday's three-nation summit meeting in Quebec, "will ensure coordination of regulatory processes, promote best practices, offer a forum to share information and keep the health and protection of consumers as a priority," the release stated.
In the release, SDA President and CEO Ernie Rosenberg said: "This initiative makes a lot of sense, both for consumers and for industry. We need a credible chemical management system, harmonized with Canada and Mexico, to give the public confidence that our products are safe to use."
