ST. LOUIS — With its purchase of Tornado Industries Inc., Tacony Corporation has acquired its second floor machine manufacturer in five weeks, according to a press release.
In early January, Tacony bought British JanSan manufacturer Truvox International Ltd., the release noted.
Tornado, which makes and markets vacuums, floor scrubbers, burnishers, propane floor cleaners, sweepers, pressure washers, steam cleaners and carpet care equipment, will remain in Chicago under the leadership of Michael Schaffer and Gary Cirone, its current CEO/president and executive vice president, respectively, the release stated.
In the release, Bill Hinderer, president and COO of Tacony Corporation, said: "Tornado's long history as an innovative, successful and distributor-supportive organization mirrors our own. Together the two companies enjoy financial strength, a complete product offering, an impressive list of blue chip customers and global reach."
