Look for signs of potential mold problems
Monday, February 24, 2003
PHOENIX, AZ — An Arizona Republic writer urged homeowners to get an experienced, certified mold consult to perform an inspection if mold is believed to be present in homes

The consultant would recommend areas for destructive inspection (in wall cavities, etc.) and determine whether sampling should be done (guidelines, click here).

When should a consultant be hired?

  • Visible discoloration on a surface

  • Earth or musty odor present

  • Recent leak or water damage resulting in cracking or leaching walls and ceilings, warping wood, drywall tape loosening
