According to the release, the convention topics will apply to those in the damage repair, environmental and rug, carpet and textile industries, and will include a number of in-depth, hands-on sessions and an "RIA Rug Tour of the World."
Pre-convention sessions include: "Survival Spanish for Restoration Professionals," offering non-Spanish speaking employees basic Spanish phrases and terminology, insights into Hispanic culture and helpful bi-lingual training techniques; and "Creating Working Relationships with Adjusters that Last," presented by insurance adjuster Peter Crosa on how adjusters think, what their bottom line needs are and how contractors can work proactively with them rather than reactively, the release stated.
In addition to the pre- and post-convention sessions, the main convention includes two-and-a-half days of education and networking events, food for all included events, access to the Exhibition, two general sessions, the welcome reception and the awards reception, the release stated.
The deadline for early-bird registration is February 26, and those interested may register at the RIA website, the release added.
