Robots join superbug fight
Thursday, May 29, 2008
BIRMINGHAM, England — The latest weapon in the fight against hospital superbugs like methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aurea (MRSA) and Clostridium difficile is a robot disinfection system, according to the BBC.

Sterinis machines by Hygienics Ltd. use a powerful disinfectant that is poisonous to humans, the video story stated.

The reporter says that you program the robots, "open up all the nooks and crannies" in a ward room,  then get out of the room and let the robots "do their bit."

According to the Hygienics website, the Sterinis robot uses hydrogen peroxide dry mist vaporization and its cost would be recouped by a hospital having just three fewer superbug patients.
