    PRODUCT MANAGER - FLOOR CARE CM-19

    Responsibilities of Position:

    This position is responsible for setting the strategic direction for the specific market segment(s) for which he or she is responsible. Specifically analyzes market trends, determines customer requirements, and sets the priorities for engineering, leads the new product development teams including managing the VOC and QFD process. Responsible for conducting industry, product/program training of the sales force, competitive analysis, sales programs and new product launch activities, Holds P&L responsibility for the company’s resilient, carpet and wood floor care product categories.  Develops pricing strategies to maximize profitability and market share, develops literature and advertising materials and establishes trade show objectives, direction and participation. Responsible for the development of the strategic and annual plans for his/her market segment(s). He/she is also responsible for updating the forecast on a monthly basis. Works closely with customers on strategic development projects and non-operating issue resolution in timely fashion. Position requires approximately 30% to 40% travel.

    Key Success Factors (Specific expectations during next 6-18 months)

    • Develop the market segment strategy making use of innovative cleaning technologies to gain competitive advantage.
    • Achieve the new product sales and margin target per budget for assigned market segments and product categories.
    • Provide strategic leadership to new product launch teams to ensure projects are completed on-time and on budget.
    • Provide pricing direction for all quotes.
    • Focus on systems solutions to satisfy customer new product requirements and to gain competitive advantage.
    • Sales force competently trained on applicable products and management processes/systems.

    Attributes/Skills/Physical Requirements:

    • Results oriented, self-starter with strong team leadership skills, demonstrated interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and customer relations skills.
    • Creative.  Sees opportunities where others may not and acts upon them.
    • Familiarity with powered floor maintenance equipment and floor coatings techniques.
    • An understanding of phase gate NPD process, six sigma and lean manufacturing principles.

    Experience/Education Required/Sought:

    • Bachelors degree in Marketing.
    • 5 to 7 years marketing experience required.
    • Career blend of B2B &B2C experience desirable.
    • Program management experience desirable.
    • Technical experience in resilient floor and wood floor coatings would be a definite plus.
    • A strong understanding of the Sanitary Maintenance Industry and managing multiple distribution channels.
