SPRINGFIELD, IL — Nine workers from Challenge Unlimited Inc. have been recognized for their janitorial work, according to The State Journal-Register.
The group, which services the Paul Findley Federal Building, received the 2011 General Services Administration/National Industries for the Severely Handicapped (GSA/NISH) Partners in Service Excellence Award at a ceremony on Tuesday, the article stated.
According to the article, the Partners in Excellence Award recognizes superior performance and creativity, dependability, solid documentation and continuous improvement.
Only programs that participate in the AbilityOne program, which helps severely disabled people find employment, were eligible for the award, the article stated.
