NEW YORK — A window cleaner has miraculously survived a 40-foot fall down an airshaft between two Lower Manhattan buildings, according to the New York Post.

The unidentified worker plummeted to the basement level of a Broadway building just after 2 p.m. yesterday, the article stated.

According to the article, officials believe the victim was wearing a harness when he fell, but they were not sure whether it was fastened onto or clipped into anything.

The worker remains in serious condition at a New York hospital, the article noted.
