West Haven PD custodian buys drugs while on duty

WEST HAVEN, CT — A police department custodian faces a felony charge after members of the department''s Street Crimes Unit watched him buy illegal prescription drugs while he was supposed to be working a night shift, according to the New Haven Register.
Nicholas DeCrescenzo, 34, bought five Percocet pills from Steven Annucci, 35, minutes after he emptied the trashcans belonging to the cops who arrested him, the article noted.
DeCrescenzo, a city employee who had worked as a part-time custodian at the department before becoming a full-time employee and union member in March, has been suspended without pay pending an investigation, the article stated.
According to the article, Nicholas DeCrescenzo left work during his 3 to 11 p.m. shift when he got a text from Annucci, who offered to sell him pills.
