PETOSKEY, MI — Tim Schmit began his work with Lincoln Elementary school 41 years ago and has been the head custodian at Lincoln for 39 years. But, now it''s time to say goodbye, according to Petoskey News.

According to Denny YoungeDyke, supervisor for maintenance/custodial services for the district, Schmit doesn''t just clean things.
"He absolutely owns his building ... he takes care of not only the building, but the occupants inside it," he said. "The kids just adore him ... the kindness and gentleness he''s shown them — I''m sure he''s had a huge impact."
Schmit is retiring from custodial duties at
on Sept. 1, but will stay in touch with students by continuing his school bus route on Lincoln Howard Road, a job he''s been doing for the past 36 years, the article noted.
