Wednesday''s Ask the Experts question from a cleaning professional on the International Custodial Advisors Network (ICAN) "Ask the Experts" page: I want to know if a rate of $.198/ month is appropriate for a 23,000-square-foot building with regular general maintenance. All the office rooms are carpet. There is approximately 6,000 square feet of linoleum flooring which will require finishing. Includes carpet cleaning. It will be done 6 days a week and I will include exterior cleaning (picking up paper cups, trash, debris). We are charging $4,554.00 a month.
The answer:
My initial observation is that a monthly rate of $.198 is a little high for janitorial alone, but slightly low when you include carpet and floor care. When you present a grocery list (so to speak) of carpet and floor care prices and frequencies, a customer can pick and choose according to their budget and appearance needs.
