CHICAGO — The Chicago Tribune has ranked W. W. Grainger Inc. 6th among large companies on its Top Workplaces 2010 list, which was published in a special supplement of the newspaper, according to a press release.
The Tribune recognized 100 companies in the Chicago area as top places to work based on employee feedback, the release noted.
"We are honored to be named among the top places to work in Chicago," said Grainger Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) James T. Ryan.
"The people who work at Grainger are focused everyday on providing the best service to our customers and we are committed to maintaining a workplace that attracts, develops and retains the best talent," Ryan added.
The Grainger ranking was based on a workplace survey conducted by the Chicago Tribune and Workplace Dynamics that gathered feedback from a sampling of Grainger employees in the Chicago area earlier this year, the release stated.
