BOULDER, CO — The University of Colorado (CU-Boulder) has signed a contract to buy the majority of its supplies through Staples Advantage, according to the Daily Camera.

While the university does not yet know exactly how much will be saved, school officials expect that there will be discounts by streamlining their purchases, the article stated.

According to the article, in 2005, the university began looking at ways to improve their products and services by putting together the "Environmentally Responsible Purchasing Taskforce."

The university requested bids for green cleaning supplies and the contract was ultimately awarded to Staples Advantage, the article noted.

"We are proud to work with the University of Colorado and help them advance their position as an environmental leader and raise the ''green'' bar for campuses across the country," Lisa Hamblet, vice president of facility solutions for Staples Advantage.
