FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — Roughly 100 members and sympathizers of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) protested outside of the Broward County Courthouse yesterday, according to the Broward-Palm Beach New Times.
The protesters are upset with the county''s negotiations with janitorial services provider TCB Systems Inc., the story stated.
According to SEIU statements, TCB Systems has been bouncing workers'' checks, harassing union members and that the county should choose another contractor.
TCB maintains the campuses of Nova Southeastern University, where SEIU members were fired in 2007 after a union drive, the story noted.
SEIU members are angered that they have lost contracts to non-union companies that mistreat employees, the story added.
