BOSTON — UGL Unicco, a subsidiary of UGL Limited, continued its scholarship program for dependents of full-time UGL Unicco employees by awarding 15 scholarships to graduating high school seniors and college students, according to a press release.
"We are pleased to once again offer scholarships to the children of our employees," said UGL Unicco Chief Executive George Keches.
"We are especially pleased to expand the program to include two $5,000 awards. All of the students have worked hard to achieve this distinction and have demonstrated the drive that is necessary to succeed. We wish them the best for the upcoming year in all of their academic pursuits," Keches continued.
Selected from among 61 applicants, the students received the scholarships in recognition of their strong academic skills, leadership qualities, community involvement, extracurricular activities and financial need, the release stated.
According to the release, the applications were supported by recommendations from teachers and administrators and were reviewed by an independent committee of higher education and financial aid professionals.
