Tuesday''s Ask the Experts question from a cleaning professional on the International Custodial Advisors Network (ICAN) "Ask the Experts" page: I am in a dispute over waxing a concrete floor in an institutional setting where there is always a water issue, either standing or drains backing up with laundry detergent. I think it would create a slip-and-fall hazard and become economically ill-advised. Any suggestions on where to find information about this?
I would seriously doubt that a wet concrete floor, in constant use, will ever get dry enough to allow a floor finish to adhere, let alone dry properly.
If you can get the floor dry, which will take days, a penetrating sealer would go down without leaving a slippery surface.
