Tuesday''s Ask the Experts question from a cleaning professional on the International Custodial Advisors Network (ICAN) "Ask the Experts" page: What is the most effective way to remove old gum from concrete stairs and sidewalks?
The answer:
Use a pressure washer with a narrow fan spray tip. The hot water from a 1,200 to 1,500 pounds of pressure per square inch (PSI) truckmount pump works well.
Get the right angle, and the hot spray will quickly peel the gum off the walkway. — Lynn E. Krafft, ICAN/ATEX editor, lekrafft@juno.com.
