Tuesday''s Ask the Experts question from a cleaning professional on the International Custodial Advisors Network (ICAN) "Ask the Experts" page: What is the best product to use on new construction hard wood floors? We do a lot of new construction cleanup.

The answer:

Once the floor is cleared of debris, a vacuum is valuable to remove fine soils from crevices in the flooring. Hard wood may then be damp mopped with a detergent solution cleaned mophead to loosen bonded soils, but the mop must be pressed out as dry as possible. Water, as I’m sure you know... — Lynn E.
