Tuesday''s Ask the Experts question from a cleaning professional on the International Custodial Advisors Network (ICAN) "Ask the Experts" page: When using the 3M™ Easy Clean floor pads that are color coded (red, green, blue, white) is there an industry standard as to which color should be used for cleaning restrooms?
The answer
No, not really. The 3M™ Easy Clean System pads are intended to be “Used to apply floor cleaner to hard surfaces. Color-coding helps with training employees and reduces potential cross-contamination.”
Select the size and color you choose to use for the restrooms in your facility. Record the choice and train your people to use only those pads designated for this purpose, and only in the areas in which they should be used if this is a health care setting where cross-contamination is a concern...
