Tuesday''s Ask the Experts question from a cleaning professional on the International Custodial Advisors Network (ICAN) "Ask the Experts" page: I am looking for some help on how to clean and maintain horizontal blinds. We just got a bank to clean that has tall windows with black blinds in each office.
The answer:
You can use a treated dust cloth or microfiber cloth and a step ladder, if necessary, to dust them in place. A lamb''s wool duster with a handle may avoid the use of a ladder.
Open and close them as needed to reach all surfaces. Damp wiping by hand is done much the same way. Always buff dry with a clean towel to avoid streaks. Vacuuming is often useful with a dusting brush attachment on the wand.
