Tuesday''s Ask the Experts question from a cleaning professional on the International Custodial Advisors Network (ICAN) "Ask the Experts" page: I have a car dealership for bidding. There is a total of 4,367 square feet of ceramic tile, 2,416 square feet of carpet, three restrooms with 16 fixtures total, one lunch area with two microwaves and one sink, two entry doors, and a 2,336-square-feet concrete service area to be swept and mopped twice a week. They need six days a week cleaning. How long should it take and what should I charge?
The answer:
The ISSA 447 Times booklet will give you average times for doing all that is needed. After that, you must plug in your labor and related costs to get a fair and workable price to present. While we appreciate your confidence in our estimating prowess, we can but guess at the price you should put on this work.
