PHOENIX, AZ — The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) says the Town of Parker is receiving a $56,000 grant to pay for cleaning up small amounts of asbestos in three town buildings, according to KSWT-TV.
The Western Arizona town wants to bring the buildings into compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act requirements, the article noted.
The town received a community development block grant for removal of barriers and making the town hall/police station, the library and the community/senior center more accessible for the handicapped, but funds from that grant cannot be used for asbestos cleanup, the article stated.
