BATON ROUGE, LA — The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recently cited three companies for "willful and serious" violations of federal regulations concerning asbestos, according to Mesothelioma News.
Louisiana Health Care Consultants LLC, Dean Building Holdings and Bob Dean Enterprises Inc. were all jointly charged for three alleged willful and 10 alleged serious violations for failing to follow OSHA''s standards for asbestos-related construction projects, the story stated.
The three companies face fines of $112,000 for failing to provide a trained supervisor to oversee the removal of a ceiling that contained asbestos, failing to provide proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and neglecting to inform workers that materials at the site contained asbestos, the story noted.
All three companies have 15 working days from the time they receive the citations to respond, either by demonstrating regulatory compliance, requesting a hearing or contesting the citations, the story added.
