WASHINGTON — The American Cleaning Institute (ACI) is the new name of the former Soap and Detergent Association (SDA), according to a press release.
The Institute introduced its new name and launched a new website to demonstrate the benefits and contributions of cleaning to everyday life, the release noted.
"Our new name, brand and website enable us to better tell the story of how cleaning products and practices contribute to better living," said ACI board chair Jane Hutterly, executive vice president (EVP) of Worldwide Corporate & Environmental Affairs, S.C. Johnson & Son Inc.
"Our industry''s commitment to a more sustainable world and enhancing health and the quality of life is stronger than ever and will be well represented by the American Cleaning Institute," Hutterly added.
"The American Cleaning Institute reflects our industry''s contribution to better living, who we represent, and the well-recognized scientific and technical expertise that we share with audiences around the world," said Ernie Rosenberg, ACI president and chief executive officer (CEO).
The launch of the new name and website caps off a year during which the Institute moved into an environmentally-friendly new building and brought its global business-to-business meeting to a new location, the Grande Lakes Resort in Orlando, FL, the release stated.
