MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Tennant Company announced that its breakthrough ec-H2O™ technology has won out of over 7,000 applications the 2009 European Business Award for the Business Innovation of the Year, one of the most prestigious business awards. ec-H2O converts plain tap water into a powerful cleaning agent without any added chemicals.
The European Business Awards ( is an independent awards program designed to recognize and promote excellence, best practice and innovation in the European business community, in line with the broad aims of the European Union and business representative groups across the member states. Entering the European Business Awards is a chance for companies to benchmark themselves against the best businesses in Europe. Due to the quality of the entrants and the rigor of the judging process, those to win a Ruban d’Honneur are seen as exceptional European Businesses. During the gala presentation event in Rome on April 8, Karel Huijser, Vice President International, received the 2009 European Business Award for the Business Innovation of the Year on behalf of Tennant Company. The jury estimated that Tennant Company’s ec-H2O technology earned this honor because of the business-changing opportunities it creates for the company and the marketplace. The innovative technology that electrically converts water to perform like a powerful detergent offers customers the possibility to benefit from a sustainable cleaning solution while guaranteeing excellent performance and large efficiency increases.
