VISTA, CA — A July 2011 survey by Waterless Company Inc. asked about 500 facility managers how waterless urinals compare to traditional urinals, according to a press release.

The seven-question survey touched upon cleaning and maintenance issues and how fast a no-water system pays for itself due to reduced water and sewer charges, the release stated.

According to the release, 40 percent believed a no-water unit cost more than a water-using urinal and another 40 percent believed the costs "were about the same," while 20 percent said they were less.

"A waterless system typically costs less to purchase and install than a conventional flush urinal because it has fewer plumbing components," said Klaus Reichardt, chief executive officer (CEO) and founder of Waterless Company Inc.
