VAN NUYS, CA — It is not uncommon to hear squeals and groans as Daniel Pearl Magnet High School (DPMHS) students cope with less than ideal restroom conditions, according to The Pearl Post.

There is an ant infestation in one of the girls'' restrooms at DPMHS, but it seems that no one is really able to point the finger or place the blame, the article stated.

According to the article, the school of approximately 330 students only has one custodian: Plant Manager Stevie Hearne, who actually works at four other facilities, including Independence High School and Local District One.

The school being short-staffed on custodians is high on the list of reasons why many restrooms at DPMHS remain locked throughout the day, the article noted.
