Strategic Market Alliance hosts inaugural operations forum

OAK BROOK, IL — Strategic Market Alliance (SMA) conducted a two-day distributor/owner operations forum, December 7 and 8 at Brady Industries in Las Vegas, according to a press release.
The event was attended by operations managers, general managers, owners and other management personnel representing SMA distributor members, the release noted.
Developed by SMA''s Member Operations Committee, the two-day forum featured presentations on an array of operational topics such as delivery logistics, fleet fueling, supply chain design, warehouse/inventory management, transportation strategies, sample processing, effective customer service and equipment service profitability, the release stated.
"SMA is comprised of market leading, independent distributors who collaborate as fellow owners," said Brady Industries Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Operations Committee Chairman Ryan Law.
"As such, the attendees openly shared their experiences, individual success stories and best practices with the group. As a result, we were all able to leave the forum with tangible tools, resources and recommendations to better our respective operations. We are also already experiencing increased interaction amongst member operations managers on key issues, which ultimately leads to improvements in all our businesses," Law added.
