REDONDO BEACH, CA — The Department of Beaches and Harbors is attempting to work out a plan to open more beach restrooms — and keep them clean, according to the Redondo Beach Patch.
Numerous complaints about closed and dirty restrooms have driven the board of supervisors to ask the Department of Beaches and Harbors to find a solution, the article stated.
According to the article, the department head is suggesting the county hire at least 13 more janitors to help keep the restrooms clean and functioning.
While the new hires would come with a price tag of $327,000, the county could subsidize that money from fees it is planning to charge summer camp operators who wish to use the beaches, the article noted.
