ServiceMaster introduces hybrid fleet

MEMPHIS, TN — The ServiceMaster Company is doing its part to preserve the environment by introducing hybrids into its California fleet vehicles, according to the Memphis Business Journal.

ServiceMaster expects to improve their fuel economy by up to 40 percent, reduce maintenance costs by 30 percent and provide up to 30 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, the article stated.
ServiceMaster believes that just one truck with an improved fuel economy of 35 percent could save 47 gallons of fuel per month or 564 gallons per year, the article noted.
According to the article, the company is participating in California''s Hybrid Vehicle Incentive Program, which provides funds for companies to invest in environmentally friendly transportation solutions.
