HOWELL, MI — The Fowlerville Community Schools board of education is poised to approve a request for proposals for private maintenance and custodial services at its next meeting, according to the Daily Press and Argus.
The bidding process for maintenance and custodial privatization is expected to take at least six weeks, with a deadline of May 9, the article stated.
"This is really just information gathering on those services," said Superintendent Rick Heinrich.
"Based on potential savings, we''ll then make a decision on whether we will continue the practice of employing the staff," Heinrich added.
According to the article, the district is looking at a "significant reduction" in state funding, leading to a budget deficit of nearly $2 million dollars.
