GOFFSTOWN, NH — A Goffstown elementary school is coming together to help a custodian whose home was destroyed by fire, according to WMUR-TV
The only thing David Moody was able to salvage from his burned-out apartment was a $2 bill: The home was destroyed Friday night when flames ripped through an apartment building, the article stated.
Moody is a custodian at Maple Avenue Elementary School
, and when the school heard about his situation, there was an outpouring of support, the article noted.
According to the article, teachers, staff, students and parents have come forward to help with everything from furniture to gift cards.
Officials said they have collected more than $500 in gift cards for groceries, gas and other retail stores, the article added.
