ROXBURY, NJ — The Roxbury Township Public Schools could save hundreds of thousands of dollars should it decide to partially or fully outsource custodial services, according to the Daily Record.
Bill Gerichter, of Edvocate School Support Solutions, earlier this month told the school board it could bring its current $3 million custodial costs down by more than $739,000 should it outsource all but six custodial positions — one for each school building, the article stated.
Much of the savings comes from the lower hourly wage outsourced employees would get, along with the number of days off the outsourced staff would be entitled to, the article noted.
Superintendent Michael Rossi said the board of education would first have to hire a consultant to develop specs that outsourcing companies would bid on.
Once those bids come in, the board would then decide if it wants to pursue outsourcing, the article added.
