MUSKEGON, MI — In an effort to cut costs, the custodians at Oakridge Public Schools will be working for a private contractor next year, according to The Muskegon Chronicle.

On Wednesday, the school board voted in favor of accepting the contract for Enviro-Clean Building Maintenance Services to provide custodial services for the district, the article stated.

According to the article, the district looks to save nearly $500,000 by privatizing the services.

With the move to contract services, 10 custodians will be let go, while two will remain with the district under a new maintenance/groundskeeping classification, the article noted.
