Scholarship offered in honor of late custodian

WOBURN, MA — The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) at Daniel P. Hurld Elementary School is offering a $1,000 scholarship in honor of late custodian David Carpenter, according to the Woburn Advocate.
According to the story, the scholarship will go to a senior in high school that plans to continue on to higher education at an accredited college or university.
In order to qualify for the scholarship, students must have attended the elementary school for at least two years and must submit their high school transcript, an application form and essays, the story stated.
Students can contact the school or the PTO for an application, the story added.
