WASHINGTON — Jane M. Hutterly is the recipient of the 2012 ACI Elva Walker Spillane Distinguished Service Award, according to a press release.
Hutterly has spent more than 30 years at SC Johnson & Son Inc. and a decade on the American Cleaning Institute (ACI) Board of Directors, the release stated.
According to the release, Hutterly served as chair and vice chair of the ACI Board of Directors during her decade of service on the Board, and retired in December 2010 as executive vice president of worldwide corporate and environmental affairs at SC Johnson.
In this capacity, Hutterly led the consumer products business in environmental and sustainability actions, public and governmental policy, public affairs and overall corporate social responsibility on a global and local level, the release noted.
"Jane Hutterly was a major leadership force in helping guide the transition of The Soap and Detergent Association to the American Cleaning Institute. These efforts moved ACI forward on our key strategic pillars of sustainability, outreach and chemical management. Her focus, hard work, dedication and grace will long be remembered by ACI members and staff," said Ernie Rosenberg, ACI president and chief executive officer (CEO).
"It is a wonderful honor to receive this award. ACI plays a key role in supporting the cleaning industry and I was pleased to be of service to it over the last decade," said Hutterly.
