Restorer benefits from unique marketing tool

CHARLOTTE, NC — A North Carolina-based restoration company has found a “niche” form of marketing that is helping build business despite a struggling economy.
David Snell, owner of Executive Restoration, was contacted on April 1 by WCCB-TV, Charlotte’s local Fox News affiliate, for an interview on the topic of water damage to homes or businesses.
“As you can imagine, on April Fool’s Day, I really thought this was someone else who was trying to play a trick on me, but this was not the case,” Snell said.
Snell was interviewed by Fox News for about an hour on what water damage can do to homes or businesses and how quickly the problem can develop into something more serious — such as mold damage.

Since the airing of the interview, he has been informed by the Charlotte station that they “want to run something on water and mold with Executive Restoration once a month,” Snell said. “Fox Charlotte told me that this was not a one-time deal.”
Since the initial airing of his interview, he has seen significant growth in business. With subsequent exposure, he feels this is something that will help him to continue to expand.
Snell’s company began in 1987 like many, on a shoestring budget performing carpet cleaning, but has since expanded into restoration work covering North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee and Virginia.
"The Executive Restoration mission statement goes above and beyond just mold removal," Snell said. "We''ve grown to include all manners of repair and maintenance, as well as solutions for problems like water damage and flooding."
