
According to the story, the rest area was also ranked fourth overall by Green View, a non-profit organization that employs older workers at government facilities — including rest areas — across the state.
Seven times a year, Green View makes an announced inspection of every rest area, checking for 30 specific points, including overall appearance, lawn care, first impressions, public visibility, cleanliness of toilets, log books and cleaning products, the story stated.
Crew leader Ed Novotny said: "The cleaning is constant. It''s kind of the code word around here."
Novotony, along with the rest of his crew — Herb Hoppe, Lloyd Johnson, Don James, Ken Tvedt, Gary Larson and Bernie Korkowski — were presented with a plaque last Friday, the story added.
