NEW BRAUNFELS, TX — A recent inspection at the Cormal County jail revealed a widespread mold problem throughout the jail complex, according to KGNB-AM.
Now county commissioners must act on a remediation plan that will cost upwards of $100,000, the article stated.
According to the article, mold was found throughout the duct work of the jail itself, the Sheriff’s Office and in an adjacent building.
Commissioners are expected to exempt themselves from the normal procedure of going out for bids for such an expensive project, instead hiring Fresh Air Certified Mold Remediation right away in order to remove the mold as quickly as possible, the article noted.
