Sustainability Task Force Receives Distinguished Service Award
(BOISE, IDAHO) The Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) last month recognized the Refrigeration and Portable Floor Care Sustainability Task Force with the Distinguished Service Award. Raymon D. Mayginnes, Chief Product Engineer for Emerson Tool Company, joined other industry-leaders on the task force in efforts to create the home appliance industry’s first sustainability metrics.
The Distinguished Service Award recognizes significant contributions “by virtue of longevity and quality of service to AHAM and the home appliance industry.” This is the second time the distinguished service award has been given to an entire task force. Mayginnes also received a Distinguished Service Award from AHAM in April 2007.
“At Emerson, we are proud that our Chief Product Engineer is meeting with other great minds in the field to measure and minimize our impact on the environment,” said Dave Beth, Vice President of Engineering at Emerson Tool Company. “Ray deserves to be recognized for his significant contributions to the floor care field.”
Mayginnes and other top volunteer leaders were recognized at AHAM’s annual member meeting, which was held April 22-23 in Naples, Fla. This year’s theme, “Strategies for the Future”, focused on issues like energy efficiency and sustainability in home appliances.
