ProTeam Awards Free HEPA Backpacks to School, University Custodians
Nomination contest held in honor of World Asthma Day on the ProTeam Facebook fan page
(BOISE, ID) To celebrate World Asthma Day on May 3, ProTeam® held a high-filtration backpack vacuum give away contest on the company Facebook fan page (www.facebook.com/ProTeamvacuums). Open to school or university custodians in any location across the nation and world, the winners were selected from nominations made by Facebook post or email. ProTeam is pleased to announce winners Tina Enos from the University of Michigan and David Hodge from Montgomery City Public Schools as the recipients of free Super QuarterVac® HEPA vacuums.
“Originally, we were going to only give away one backpack,” said Jacalyn High, ProTeam Director of Marketing. “But the nominations we got were so deserving. Tina actually inspired this contest, and she received dozens of heartfelt posts on our Facebook page. David offered an incredible story about his experience with our backpacks. We hope that these new high-filtration, high-performance vacuums serve to improve both their lives.”
Enos, the winning college custodian, suffers from debilitating asthma, with attacks once triggered by the cleaning process, especially airborne dust emitted with the exhaust from her upright. When the University of Michigan transitioned to ProTeam backpacks and systems cleaning, her symptoms, and the dust, virtually disappeared.
Hodge, the winning school custodian, has been a custodian in the Montgomery City district for over 39 years, and has used ProTeam backpacks to reduce costs and improve indoor air quality since the mid-1980s. Both winners’ full stories were posted on World Asthma Day on the ProTeam Facebook fan page (www.facebook.com/ProTeamvacuums).
“We held this contest to honor how janitorial workers across the country and the world put their health on the line every day,” High noted. “We’ll keep offering ways to acknowledge and celebrate custodians on our social media sites.”
ProTeam is also a longtime educational partner with the American Lung Association to educate the public on indoor air quality and lung health. The American Lung Association does not endorse products.
ProTeam® became a global phenomenon in the commercial cleaning world in 1987 after introducing a game-changing design innovation: the lightweight backpack vacuum.
