The original scorecard, launched last May, was designed to track and encourage improvement on key environmental sustainability measures among almost 400 P&G suppliers, the article noted.
According to the article, measures included energy use, water use, waste disposal and greenhouse gas emissions, all looked at on a year-by-year basis.
"Working with our external partners is clearly critical to realizing our long-term environmental vision as a company, and this scorecard is a helpful tool to facilitate that collaboration," said Vice President for Global Sustainability Len Sauers.
"After all, using 100 percent renewable or recycled materials for all products and packaging will only be achieved through strong collaboration with our business partners," Sauers added.
Scorecard results will begin affecting supplier performance ratings and in turn affecting their opportunities for future business with P&G, the article stated.
