Woman arrested for posing as Cal-OSHA trainer

FRESNO, CA — A woman has been arrested for posing as a California Occupaitional Safety and Health Administration (Cal-OSHA) trainer and swindling several companies out of their money, according to the Fresno Bee.
The woman, whose name has not been released as she awaits trial at the Fresno County Jail, faces 50 counts of felony grand theft, burglary, diversion of labor funds and theft by false pretenses, the story stated.
According to the story, officials of a local construction company contacted the Clovis Police Department after the woman collected $35,000 as a fine for alleged safety violations by the company.
During the past six months the woman posing as a Cal-OSHA trainer allegedly swindled various companies out of nearly $500,000 in phony fines and conducted fake training classes for a fee to clear up supposed violations, the story noted.
The Fresno County Sheriff''s Office and the Fresno Police Department are currently conducting investigations of the woman, which involves at least six other fraud cases, the story added.
