Window washers rescued from broken scaffolding
April 23, 2010
It remains unknown what caused the scaffolding to malfunction roughly 20 feet from the roof of the Sheraton Seattle Hotel, the story stated.
The hour-long ordeal ended around 12:30 p.m. when firefighters successfully pulled the two men to safety, the story noted.
Concerned onlooker Cynthia Repsher said: "I looked up and I saw the window washer basket and I said, ''Oh, my God!'' I was excited, but I was so scared for that last guy because I didn''t know how long they were up there in that basket. All I can say is, ''Thank God.'' I was so excited but my heart is going a mile a minute. I was so afraid for the two of them, I really was."
This incident marks the second such occurrence involving stranded window washers in recent years at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel, the story added.
According to the story, the window washers, whose names and the company for which they work remain unknown, were uninjured in the incident that is now being looked into by investigators.
