Cleaning & Maintenance Management Online

We've put on a new face for 2007

September 19, 2010

Information has two main components: substance and form.

Writers and editors put substance first in the above equation. Artists and page designers do just the opposite and specialize in form over content.

I guess it’s a version of the age-old question of what came first — the chicken or the egg.

But ever since prehistoric man decided to relive his greatest hunting trip by carving symbols on cave walls, to the advent of the first printing press that married words and pictures, to today’s high-speed Internet that can instantaneously blast information bits and pixels to millions of people, substance and form have had to agree to share center stage in the minds of the intended audiences.

Writers and editors know, deep down, that no matter how important their words are, they won’t be read if they don’t appear gift-wrapped in an appealing package. Much the same, artists and page designers know that no matter how pretty the box is, if it is empty, the readers and viewers won’t return.

Articles and news flashes have to be important and timely, and the vehicle has to reach out and grab the intended reader or viewer.

That’s why both the issue of CM/Cleaning & Maintenance Management® magazine that you are holding in your hands as well as our website are sporting a new look for 2007.

You may have already noticed that the magazine pages have been redesigned with a crisper, cleaner, more professional look.

Departments have been reorganized and color-coded so you, the reader, can find things much more efficiently.

You’ll also notice that we have prominently included a picture and the credentials of the contributors who have penned each article. We take great pride in bringing you the most qualified and authoritative writers in the professional cleaning and maintenance industry.

On our CM/Cleaning & Maintenance Management Online™ website, you’ll notice that the “clutter” is gone. The JanSan industry’s highest-trafficked website has been redesigned to be more user-friendly and features easy access to 10 years’ worth of how-to information for cleaning and maintenance industry professionals.

We obviously like the new, modern look of both CM/Cleaning & Maintenance Management® magazine and CM/Cleaning & Maintenance Management Online™, but what do you think? Don’t hesitate to tell us by sending your comments to jfazzone@ntpmedia.com.
