USGBC approves the University of California Irvine as an Education Provider

As an Education Provider, the University of California Irvine Extension''s high-quality education programs will help to enhance the ongoing professional development of the building industry and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) professionals, the release stated.
Kirwan Rockefeller, director of Sustainability Leadership at the University of California Irvine Extension, said: "Green initiatives and sustainability jobs will only continue to grow during the next few years. We felt it was imperative to develop high-quality courses that will help this industry and its professionals flourish. The USGBC designation marks a very exciting time for the University of California at Irvine''s sustainability programs and its students."
A total of 10 courses have been approved, including: Introduction to Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainability & Green Business; Sustainable Practices in Senior Housing: The Boom of Our Aging; Energy Retrofits: Saving Energy in Existing Buildings; and The Future of Energy: Cleantech, the release noted.
