Tuesday's Ask the Experts: Construction cleanup
March 23, 2010
Tuesday''s Ask the Experts question from a cleaning professional on the International Custodial Advisors Network (ICAN) "Ask the Experts" page: I''ve been working for a construction company for over four years now, and I want to join in commercial cleaning but want to focus on construction, too. My question is, what are things you need to do or know when considering doing construction clean out?
The answer:
Over the years, we have answered this question many times. Rather than do it again, I will refer you to the ICAN/ATEX archives at
www.icanatex.com/Index.asp.
Search through the many entries there under bidding and estimating, cleaning procedures, etc. Here are two comments I found from back in 2006.
Construction cleanup involves the leaving the entire structure free from construction debris and dust. Labels are removed from glass and rest room fixtures. Resilient tile floors will need finishing. Light fixtures will need cleaning. Carpets will need vacuuming and, in some cases, spot removal.
