Top facility manager priorities in 2011

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Facility managers (FMs) have made enormous strides in their profession, becoming advocates for creating more sustainable buildings and raising their profiles within their organizations, according to a press release.
As they evaluate areas for improvement in 2011, there is one theme that consistently rises to the top: doing more with less, the release noted.
In working with hundreds of facilities nationwide to implement facility and cleaning/sustainability programs, experts from Staples Facility Solutions have compiled the "Top Five FM Priorities for 2011," which include gaining control over spending and achieving sustainable building requirements on a budget, the release stated.
According to the release, Staples Facility Solutions also identified leveraging technology to create a more streamlined process and reevaluating cleaning strategies among the top priorities.
